Types of Dance offered at the Studio
 
Jazz Ballet Popular form of dance seen in video clips and on dance shows.
Tap Rhythms made by tap plates on shoes. The dance was made famous by Fred Astaire and more recently by David Atkins.


U16 Tap Competition Team 2007
Classical The most disciplined form of dance which develops good technique, correct posture and grace.
Character Dance forms from other countries such as India, Spain and Russia.
Kinder Classes Students from 2yrs. Classes are shorter and have been designed for the young to develop coordination and to have fun.
Exams Set syllabus taught to develop strong technique
and is examined by an outside body. Gives the students
something to work towards and can eventually lead to a
teaching diploma after completing all exams.
Competitions Students learn dances to compete in local festivals. Students who do solos must do a private lesson each week and students who do troupe work must do the extra competition class.
Contemporary A free form type of dance often
contains unrestricted and free flowing movement.
